  • Jan Thiel Bay is one of the many beaches that Curacao is rich. It is located in the south of Jan Thiel , a district in southeastern Willemstad . It lies between the Cornelis Bay to the west and the Caracas Bay in the east. Jan Thiel Bay is a free beach which was built by the nearby resorts. It is the only beach on Curacao, which is planted largely. It consists largely of a huge concrete tank in the sea showing ocher sand that’s almost entirely pebble and shell-free. The stretches of beach next to the concrete basin consist of raised sand.

    Jan Thiel Bay is currently only free for residents of the nearby resorts, the Chogogo Resort, Livingstone Resort and the Papagayo Resort. The outsiders have to pay entrance fee, plus the cost for the use of beach chairs. The beach is quite luxuriously furnished and focused on the rich tourist. Virtually every imaginable beach facilities available. There are plenty of facilities for water sports and beach sports. In the middle of the beach is a large restaurant with a beach bar.
